What is the Correct Redarc Brake Controller for a 2008 Toyota Tundra with Factory Tow Package?

Question:

I have a 2008 Toyota Tundra with the factory tow package. Is the RED82CR or RED98CR the appropriate brake controller? I’m having difficulty determining the difference between the two part numbers.

Hello Jonathan,

Great question. You are going to want the # RED98CR as it will be both the brake controller and the plug-n-play pigtail for the 2008 Toyota Tundra. The # RED82CR is just the brake controller by itself.

Thanks Kate. The RED82CR has pictures that make it seem like it comes with the switch plugs to mount the remote head. Do either of these part numbers come with those switch plugs?

@Jonathan My apologies for the delay, I brought in the new year with a nasty cold. Somehow we have the redarc kitted 2 different ways for the 2008 Toyota Tundra. You will want the # RED82CR as it come with the mounting panels and the vehicle specific pigtail, and the # RED98CR would be the brake controller and vehicle specific pigtail and WITHOUT the mounting panels. Sorry about the confusion, sometimes things change on out site that I am not aware of. Normally we do not have them kitted with the mounting panels, must be a new thing being added.
