Will this fit on the shank from Curt 45935? Would like the option to use my existing shank to pull a 1 7/8 ball trailer. Even though that shank is overkill for the job, I already own it,

The channel on the # C28KR is too narrow to fit on the Curt Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # C99NR (45935) shank. What you can use instead is the Ball Mount Adapter for Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Weight Distribution Shank # BA-1. This has a 1" diameter hole so you can use a hitch ball like the # C40002.
