Can B&W Continuum Head With 2-1/2" Shank Replace Head With 2" Shank
Updated 11/17/2025 | Published 12/11/2024 >
Question:
Hello. I have the Continuum system for a 2” shank hitch. We recently upgraded to a 3/4 ton with a 2.5” shank hitch. Can I just buy this piece to swap out so I don’t have to use the little 2” to 2.5” adapters?

Hi Tanner; that is 100% correct. You can replace what you have now with the B&W Continuum Weight Distribution Head Assembly - 2-1/2" Shank # BW68FR if you do not want to use an adapter sleeve on your hitch. It would be great if you could just replace that shank but B&W only offers the complete head assembly as a replacement.

Hey Tanner, how did the swap to the 2-1/2" Continuum head assembly go on your new truck? Your update could make it easier for others moving from a 2" to a 2-1/2" hitch setup.
