Question:
hi, i have 225/60/18 tires on my 2017 Touring 2.5 Forester. will these chains fit both the tire and the wheel well clearance? BTW I bought a 2inch hitch from etrailer and had it installed at your recommended dealer, perfect fit and great dealer install! thank you!

Hi Anne-Marie,
The Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains # TC1553 unfortunately are not a fit for your 225/60R18 tire size. In the online manual for your Forester they state that you can not use snow chains and would instead need to use spring chains, which are essentially just much smaller chains.
If you have at least 1.46" (37 mm) between the top of the tire tread and the wheel well and at least 0.59" (15 mm) between the tire's sidewall and the vehicle itself then you could use the ISSE Classic Snow Socks # TCH74 instead to provide more traction.

Hey Anne-Marie, how did the ISSE Classic Snow Socks work out on your Forester? Your feedback could really help others who need traction options for similar tire sizes. Sharing what you found would be a big help to the next driver facing the same clearance limits.
