5th Wheel Bracket And Rail Kit For 2012 Ram 1500 Bighorn With 5-1/2' Bed

Updated 12/15/2025 | Published 11/04/2024

Question:

I bought a used Demco 13K slider for 5 1/2 Dodge 2012 ram 1500 bighorn pickup. What under bed mounting bracket kit do I need and 2 rails for on top. Is there a pattern or measurements for the rails and brackets on the frame. I have the 4 pins from my old truck.

Hello Charlie, thanks for getting in touch. We do offer a 5th wheel rail/bracket kit for your 2012 Ram 1500 Bighorn with the 5-1/2' bed. For that I recommend the following:

- Demco Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rails and Custom Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Hitches # DM8552030-71

This is a full kit so you get all of your brackets, hardware and above bed rails for mounting your Demco 13K slider. The rails are industry standard 5th wheel rails (ISR) so they will work with any brand of 5th wheel hitch like Demco, B&W, Curt, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Husky, Reese and any other hitch made for the ISR.

Hey Charlie, how did things go with the Demco rail and bracket kit for your Ram 1500? Were you able to get your 13K slider mounted the way you wanted? Your update could make it easier for the next person working on a similar setup.

@JesseM Everything went great, the instructions are very detailed and easy to follow. The brackets for the frame are heavy duty and fit perfect. Buying the bracket kit with rails is my plan for the future, best thing I could have done.

@CharlieB That’s great to hear, Charlie. Glad the brackets and instructions treated you well and that everything fit the way you needed. Sounds like you ended up with a rock solid setup. Thanks for circling back with the update. It’ll definitely help the next person tackling the same install.
