Replacement Weather-Stripping For A 1996 Fleetwood Prowler

Updated 12/07/2024 | Published 10/31/2024

Question:

Hello, I have been trying to find replacement weatherstripping for my 1996 Fleetwood Prowler RV. This is the rubber that goes around the edge of windows that open with a crank.... not the sealant that goes between the window frame and the siding of the RV. I cant find the make/model of my window. Do I have to remove the window to find that out? Thank you! Duane

Hey Duane,

To find the right replacement weather-stripping for your trailer you'd need to know its dimensions and profile. For example, the Rubber Window Edge Weather Strip for RVs # SR43FR is 1/4" wide x 1/2" tall. I've attached a picture of the profile as well. You'll want to pop the weather-stripping out to see what it is so we can find a suitable replacement.

Thanks Kevin, It looks like my windows have a 5/16" track that the rubber fits into. Steele 70-3857-256 which is 5/16 x 9/16, but it's too tall. There's a lip on the window that opens/closes that overlaps a window frame edge, which appears to be a little under 1/2". It kind of fits if I trim the 9/16" tall part to about 1/2", but it's alot of work. I see this vintage of RV all over the place with the same windows. You'd think they would be easier to find. Duane

@Duane Do you feel like the Steele Rubber 90-3705-257's profile would still match up to your track? I've attached a picture of it's profile/dimensions above. It fits a 5/16" track, is 9/16" wide overall, and is 3/8" tall so it seems to be a better fit. Let me know what you think?

@Duane Yes, let me know if the 90-3705-257 would be better. We don't currently offer it but I'm working on getting it added. Would you prefer a 15' or 30' length?
