Adding trailer brakes for first time. 2 trailers, utility and enclosed the white ones that say nice tools inside to thieves. Dexter 3500 lb axle. Do I want manual or self adjusting?

Hello Mike, thanks for reaching out. I recommend going with self-adjusting brakes just because they will require less maintenance on your part over time. Once you get them installed and broken in, you will not have to mess with them again until it is time for new brakes. For your 3,500 lb Dexter axles, I recommend the following:
- etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes - Self-Adjusting - 10" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 3.5K # AKEBRK-35-SA
- Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3.5K Axles - 10" - 5 on 4-1/2 - Pre-Greased # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K
For adding new brakes to a trailer you will also need a 7-way plug like part # e99011, a breakaway kit # 20400, and an electric trailer brake controller like the Tekonsha P3 # 90195 for your tow vehicle.
