Question:
Inherited 17ft HiLo/Towlite built in Feb 2000. Water heater model G6A-7 was added on at factory. Was winterizing when I found no anode rod installed. No maintenance history available. Tank has been full of water for unknown period of time. What action would you recommend? Thanks, JIm

Helpful Expert Reply:
Jim, I'd recommend draining the tank by pulling the plug at the bottom of the tank to let as much drain out as possible. Then I'd use a hose with the Camco RV Water Heater Tank Rinser # CAM11691 to spray loose any deposits.
The last thing you can do is make a solution that is 4 parts white vinegar, and 1 part water and let it sit for a day and rinse again. This should thoroughly clean your tank and get rid of any nasty stuff that may have been sitting.
