Question:
This hub is specs for 5200 or 6000 lb axles, and contains the 6000 lb outer bearing 15123. So its really just the 6000 lb hub, which then fits both 5200 and 6000 lb axles. There is also a 5200 lb version with a smaller outer bearing lm67048, but it has the same number cast in the hub 8-201. Is that just an oem product? Is it available?

Hi Mark; the 8-201 designation fits a lot of different Dexter hubs. Most of the other numbers designate what the hubs come with such as the bearings and grease cap. Since the # 15123 and # LM67048 share the same inner diameter they both fit your spindle. The hub having a higher rating wont' make any difference.
For a hub that comes with the # LM67048 outer bearing and is specifically rated for a 5,200 lb axle you can use the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 8-201-5UC3-EZ. This also has a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern and includes the bearings and grease seal.
