etrailer Hitch e27KR On 2025 Acura MDX - What Size Spare Tire Will Fit With Hitch Installed?

Question:

E-trailer hitch. Just bought 2025 Acura MDX with Technology Package. Comes with spare donut not full size spare but donut has 19 inch rim. Will the trailer hitch fit? Ive installed your e-trailer hitches on our 2014 MDX and on daughters Honda Pilot - no problem. if it doesnt fit, what alternatives do I have? Any recommendations?

Hey Ralph, thanks for reaching out. The etrailer Class 3 Hitch # e27KR is the correct fit for the 2025 Acura MDX. Unfortunately, this hitch will not allow the spare tire with the 19" rim to fit under the vehicle. According to the manufacturer, only spare tires 18" or smaller will fit under the vehicle with the hitch installed.

We offer 3 different hitches for the 2025 MDX and they all have this same restriction for the spare tire. Only the 18" or smaller spare will fit. If you need to install a hitch you will need to get a smaller spare or find a different place to store it. I wish I had a more helpful solution for you, but this will be your only option for installing a hitch. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.

Hey Ralph, did you end up going with the Class 3 hitch for your MDX or decide on another option because of the spare tire size? Your update could make it easier for others with the same setup to plan their hitch choice.
