Hi Daniel; the only thing I can really suggest is to try with the lube again. Make sure you use a lot, and get it between the collar and hitch ball. This should be where the retention balls are located. Let it sit for a while, overnight if possible. After it sits take a rubber mallet and tap on the ball while lifting the release lever. If this doesn't do the trick I would do is call Curt when they're open this week and see what they have to say about removing it. They will be the best source of information and may have a specific solution for this scenario.

Hey Daniel, were you able to get that Curt gooseneck ball freed up after trying the lube and tapping it with a mallet? Knowing what worked could help others dealing with the same rusted setup.
