Replacement Recommendation for a 30A Magnetek 6220 Power Converter

Hi - I need to replace the power converter in a truck camper. It is an older model 30A Magnetek 6620. Can you recommend a good modern replacement?

Hey Jeremy, thanks for reaching out!

I recommend checking out the 45 Amp Progressive Dynamics 4000 Series Mini RV Converter w/ Charge Wizard and AC/DC Distribution Panel # PD4045KA as there isn't a modern replacement for just the power converter. This will be rated a little higher than what you currently have, but it will still work out just fine.

Hey Jeremy, how did the Progressive Dynamics 4000 Series converter work out in your truck camper? Your update could make it easier for the next person replacing an older Magnetek unit.

Hi, I am in a similar situation with wanting to upgrade a magnetek 6620 which is actually (implied in the name) 20A. would upgrading to a 45A converter potentially overload the wires that are in place?

@JacobT What gauge wire are you using now?

@HeatherA Whatever was stock with 6620. I do not have a wire gauge currently but I am planning on getting one to check since it does not say on the wire itself. But here you recommend someone with the 6620 to upgrade to the PD4045KA and upgrading wiring was not mentioned. I have also seen the WF-8735-AD recommended on here as a lithium compatible replacement without mentioning need to replace wiring.
