Do you know if Lippert has discontinued the 733939 Lift Assist for the wide steps?

Hey Ronald, unfortunately your assumption is correct; the Lippert SolidStep Lift Assist Kit for 30" to 33" RV Doors LC733939 has been discontinued and is not available at the moment, nor do I see them selling a successor to this step.
That said, MORryde does make steps that have lift assist built in:
