Question:
Redarc Tow Pro Liberty brake controller. Your site says that it is not compatible with 2024 Subaru Ascent. Planning to use it with a 1-axle trailer. As long as I use a universal pigtail available from Redarc, would it work or is the issue something other than wiring?

Hello Roger, thanks for getting in touch. The Redarc Tow Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED44FR is compatible with the 2024 Subaru Ascent. I actually installed one in my brother in-laws Ascent a while back and it worked great. It fits nicely into the interior of the car too. The problem is that Redarc does not have a plug-in adapter for this vehicle, but you can hardwire the controller using the included pigtail. If your vehicle is already equipped with the factory tow package, you can use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers # 3062-P along with the Redarc Tow-Pro Wiring Adapter for Tekonsha Brake Controller Harness # 331-TPH-017. I know it is a little odd to use two adapters, but this is the only way to have a plug and play install for this unit. Let me know if you have any other questions.
