Question:
Does this fit a 2020 Subaru Outback? I can’t tell if you’re supposed to measure to the outside of the crossbars or the inside.

Hey Java, yes the Benton Shellraiser part # B44FR does fit the OEM crossbars of your 2020 Subaru Outback. The crossbar spread range it fits of 13-3/8 inch to 29 inch is measured from the outside of the front crossbar to the outside of the rear crossbar.
