Hi Zach; the right Equal-i-zer hitch will depend on the tongue weight of the trailer. I recommend measuring with a tongue weight scale like the # BTBRV44FR, but we can take a guess based on the weight you provided. Tongue weight is typically 10-15% of your loaded trailer weight. At the low end you're looking at 920 lbs and at the high end up to 1,725 lbs.

Based on that information, the best option is the # EQ37140ET. This WDH has a tongue weight range of 1,000-1,400 lbs which will likely cover you when empty or loaded. Most trailers typically aren't running at the GVWR and the tongue weight usually doesn't make it all the way up to 15%. I would say you'll probably be at more like 12% which would be 1,380 lbs if you maxed it out at 11,500 lbs.

Again, the best way to find this and be sure is to measure. If you find you need a higher rating we also have the # EQ64FR. The tongue weight range on this system is 1,200-1,600 lbs. Both of these will require a 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 for hitch ball installation.

Hey Zach, how did things go with the Equal-i-zer hitch for your travel trailer? Did the 1,000–1,400 lb system end up matching your tongue weight once you measured it? Your update could make it easier for others figuring out their setup.
