Hi Jerritt; the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3,500-lb E-Z Lube Axles # 84656UC3-EZ is only compatible with 13" to 16" wheels. Assuming you have a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern the 17" wheels will technically fit. However, there is a concern over the contact between the mounting surface of the hub and the wheel.
There may not be enough to support the larger wheel which could result in damage under the right conditions, including the wheel breaking off, so it isn't recommended. This is why hubs and hub/drum assemblies have a rating for wheel size. We do not have any hubs that are rated for 17" wheels.

Hmmmm. Interesting. I’m trying to understand because it would seem that the center portion (the hub contact surface) of a 15”, 16” and 17” wheel would be the same. Wouldn’t they have to be the same if they have the same bolt pattern? I guess it’s over my head. I’ll probably have to chance it then. My trailer wheels/tires need to match those on my truck. Anything else is a deal breaker. Thanks.
