Question:
My automatic trailer jack on our horse trailer won’t go up or down unless I’m sitting in the truck seat and foot on break so there has to be two people to hook up the trailer.

Hey Amanda, thanks for reaching out!
Whenever something is conditional like that it usually means there is a short or a bad ground somewhere. You'll want to check the power and grounds for your trailer jack and make sure they are properly secured without any damage. Your ground needs to be connected to a clean, bare-metal surface to be effective. If your jack grounds through the mounting hardware, like what we see with the part # EJ-3520-BBX, then you'll need to make sure they are secured and you don't have any rust or corrosion messing with the connection either.
Be sure to also check your trailer 7-Way plug and the 7-Way socket on your truck to make sure everything is good there as well.
