Hello David. I see that you ordered the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C93VV for the 2024 Buick Encore GX about 2 weeks ago. In order to install this hitch, you must completely remove the rear bumper. You will then remove the bumper beam. This hitch flanges get sandwiched between the frame rail and the impact structure, and the hitch installs using the hardware from the bumper beam. Expect this to take 2-3 hours depending on your skill level. You will find the manufacturer instructions linked below and there are a few helpful diagrams in there.
