Troubleshooting a Trailer Jack that Lowers But Won't Latch Onto Ball

Question:
My Jack goes down but seems locked when I try to it on the ball. Won’t even budge with the crank handle

Hey Mary, what kind of jack is it? If it's a powered jack, I'd suggest checking the electrical connections and make sure they are still in good shape. I'd also suggest checking the battery that's powering the jack, and make sure that it's got a sufficient enough charge to operate the jack.
If all that's good, then it could be the switch itself that's gone bad and would need to be replaced. Let me know if you can what jack you have and a little more detail on the situation, and we'd be happy to help.
