Can Kodiak Disc Brake Kit Fit In Place of DeeMax on Trailer
Updated 02/03/2026 | Published 07/29/2024 >
Question:
Hi, I have a continental boat trailer with Tie Down spindles and hubs. The current DEEMAXX 3500 slip on brakes have a tight clearance to the rotor, less than 1/8 in from the rotor to the caliper bracket. What is the minimum clearance needed to install this kit? I currently have 3” from the face of the brake mounting flange to the face of the hub. I believe Kodiak recommends 3 1/4” but will 3 work?

Hey Adam, so you don't need to verify any dimensions to make sure the Kodiak disc brake assembly part # K1HR35S fits your axles. This was designed to fit the standard spindle/brake mounting flange that your trailer would have since the DeeMax kits fit.

Hey Adam, how did the fit turn out with the Kodiak disc brake assembly on your Continental trailer? It’d be great to know if the clearance worked out as expected. Your update could make it easier for the next person with the same setup.
