Determining The Purpose Of Mystery Wires On Your Trailer

Question:

What are the two wire connections on the axle that holds the tires? Ont connection is a push in the other has connector which looks line a pull connection.

Hey Richard,

I unfortunately can't confirm exactly what those wires do but the white wire with the ring terminal connector is likely a ground that would get attached to the frame with a self tapping screw and the red wire looks like it has a bullet connector to power something. This likely runs to a jack, clearance light, or even a reverse lockout solenoid since this looks like a boat trailer, but without actually tracing the wires I can't be certain. I recommend tracing them back as best you can to see what they run to.

This is a kar kaddy for hauling a vehicle behind my Class C Forest River motor home. Other wiring is to plug into connection on RV for the portable lights on the kar karrier believe the name brand is Delomo. Do not help you any . Thanks

@RichardS The fender lighting on the Demco Kar Kaddy SS Tow Dolly # DM9713045 does use bullet connectors and would be the only electrical component on the tow dolly unless the surge brake actuator had a reverse lock out solenoid on it. I would just try to trace the wiring to see what it goes to but it's most likely going to be for the lights.
