I may have a solution for you that would allow you to carry 2 or more bicycles on the back of your Itasca Navion. Unfortunately, we do not carry any front mounted hitches to fit the 2008 Dodge Sprinter Chassis.
The use of a hitch mounted to the back might be an option. You will want to contact Itasca to determine if they recommend using a hitch on the rear of your Navion. If they ok it, ask them for the recommended weight capacity. This will be the maximum amount of weight that can be safely hauled or towed on the back of the trailer.
Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 13703, can be used on box, I-beam, and C-channel frames. Keep in mind that trailer hitches are not designed to fit specific trailers. A couple measurements will need to be taken in order to see if this hitch will be a match for your trailer. You will need to measure from the outside of the left frame member to the outside of the right frame member. That dimension needs to fall between 22 and 72 inches. One more thing that we have to check is the drop. The drop is defined as the distance from the hitch mounting flange to the top of the receiver tube. This hitch, # 13703, has a drop of 3 inches. In order to use this hitch, the measurement from the underside of the trailer's frame members to the lowest point of the trailer's bumper must be less than 3 inches. If the measurement is more, the bumper will block the receiver opening and interfere with the hitch and can not be used. I have attached a video of this receiver hitch being installed on a travel trailer. This should give you a basic idea of what you would be working with.
Capacity ratings for the hitch are tongue weight of up to 350 pounds and gross towing weight of up to 3,500 pounds. This would be the maximum load that you can safely carry and tow with this hitch. Just a reminder, you will want to follow the weight limitations of the component with the lowest weight capacity rating. Any hitch mounted accessories that you plan to use need to be rated for use behind a trailer. I am including a link to all of the hitch mounted bike racks that we offer with the RV/trailer rating.
