2010 Honda Odyssey Class III Hitch and Wiring Recommendations for Trailer Towing
Question:
Can you recommend the proper class 3 hitch and wiring for a 2010 Honda Odyssey that I plan to tow an ultralight (3600 lbs) travel trailer. It currently has a class 2 1&1/4 hitch on it with no electrical.

Thanks for reaching out!
I recommend installing the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98862 and the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118438 on your 2010 Honda Odyssey because the etrailer hitch has a matte black finish that's more durable than the glossy finish on other hitches, and the T-One wiring is the more reliable and plugs into an OEM connector on your van.
Since your trailer is over 3,000 lbs you'll likely need to add a brake controller to activate your brakes. To accomplish this you'll need the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 and a brake controller like the reliable Prodigy P3 # 90195.
In addition to these parts I recommend picking up the mounting bracket # C83DR so you can mount the wiring next to your hitch receiver.
I'm attaching some installation vehicles for you to check out, as well as a link to our ball mount article you can reference to get the correct ball mount for your towing setup.
