Can a Gooseneck Trailer Be Stolen by Dragging it Away with Just the Safety Chains

We have a 2011 Cimarron Gooseneck Horse Trailer. We have your locks for the coupler. Somebody just told me that you should include the chains when securing the locks. They read an article put out by U.S. Rider and it recommended to include the chains in locking, so that thieves could not drag the trailer off by the chains. I think that they may have been referring to bumper pull trailers, but I thought that I would check with you about such a configuration to include the chains?

They must have been talking about bumper pull trailers because there is no safe or sane way to pull a gooseneck trailer using the safety chains. The trailer would topple over or slide into the thief's vehicle.
The best way to prevent someone from trying to drag any type of trailer away by the chains is to make the chains removable if they aren't already and when the trailer is parked store them in a locked storage container on the trailer such as # DZ91717P.
But that is not going to be an issue with your gooseneck trailer. When the coupler lock # BLTL-53-40D2 is installed there is no way they can hook up and pull it away and no way they can pull the trailer with just the chains.
