Brakes Stick On Tandem Axle Trailer After Adjusting and Testing With Trailer Brake Controller
Updated 02/03/2026 | Published 07/08/2024 >
Question:
Got a 2 axle trailer with electric brakes, I’ve tested with a 16 ram 5500 and a 12 ram 2500 with same results. I can hear humming when I apply brakes stick between brake pedal and seat on the rear axle I adjusted until brakes were slightly dragging, apply brakes and nothing changed. With brakes applied I tried to adjust one until the wheel locked up then let off the brakes it should be free? But it’s still locked up when off the brakes. Trailer cord runs through the tounge and I unplugged on the underside and checked wires with my power probe separate 2 wire and it says ground at both wires.
