Do ST205/75R14 Trailer Tire Load Rating Mean Tires Can Handle That Amount
Updated 02/03/2026 | Published 07/01/2024 >
Question:
I have a 2,800 lb single-axle travel trailer Rpod by Forest River. It has 205//75 R14 tires. The Goodyear Endurance tires have only a 2,100 lb rating. So, with two tires on one axle, does that mean I can carry up to 4,200 lbs trailer weight?

Hello Kent,
Yes, that's correct; and while we don't have those Goodyear Endurance, for example the Karrier ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # AM10235 have a 2,200 lb capacity so their 4,400 lb combined rating means the tires themselves are rated for up to 4,400 lbs of trailer weight. Keep in mind the combined rating of all trailer tires should at least meet (and ideally exceed) the GVWR of your trailer.

Hey Kent, how did things work out with the Karrier ST205/75R14 tires on your Rpod trailer? Did the load rating meet your needs once you checked your trailer’s GVWR? Your update could make it easier for the next person with the same question.
