Grease Gun Needed To Grease A Curt 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch

Updated 06/07/2024 | Published 05/29/2024

Question:

Hi. I have a Curt Q16 that I would like to grease but the end of a regular grease gun is too fit to access the recessed fittings on the hitch. Is there an adapter that is needed? Thanks

Hey Mark,

There isn't a special adapter needed to lubricate your Curt 5th wheel trailer hitch, I just typically use a grease gun with a hose # L30416 instead of a solid stem to help reach those tight fit grease zerks.

It’s the end of the hose that is too big to access the recessed grease fitting.

@MarkR You're referring to the grease zerks in the jaws correct? Do you have the jaws closed and locked? if you have them open it will block the fitting. If you want to send me some pictures of where you're getting hung up I'd be happy to take a look and see if we can figure something out.

Jaws are closed Not sure how to send you a photo. Tried to copy and paste here but wouldn’t work.
