Question:
Does this require a sealing washer like the old style as i ordered a replacement master cylinder and the old one has a 1/4 x 3/16 flare but i guess the new one is 1/8 pipe. Thanks

Hey William, thanks for reaching out!
The Replacement Orifice Connector for Dexter Actuators # T1209800 does not require a seal on the flared side. For the other side we have the Replacement Gasket # T0774500 for the Orifice.

Ok - so does it or does it not need a gasket? Your first sentence says not, the second says it does, even giving part number. Confusing reply. Also misleading - reference "connecting to Your brake line ... flared". My understanding of theory of operation of master cylinder is that it should not be connected to a [rigid] brake line, but instead to a flexible brake hose. Isn't the purpose of the two overload springs on the master cylinder to allow the master cylinder to move rearward a small amount until springs are collapsed/fully compressed to absorb/soften overload condition? Using a rigid mount at the master cylinder would be inviting failure at the orifice connection to a rigid line if the master cylinder is intended to be allowed to move. If this is not correct please advise.
