Does Charge Line of Roadmaster Invisibrake System Need to be Connected on Vehicle
Published 05/08/2024 >
Question:
Hi I had the invisibrake installed on my 2024 Ford maverick hybrid. The installer said he could not hook up the charge line to the hybrid battery and charging is not needed. I am reading this is not true. Can the invisibrake keep my battery charged via the charging posts under the hood? I read another comment on your site that it was not providing sufficient power to keep the power charged.

Hey Denise, so the Roadmaster Invisibrake part # RM-8700 does draw power from the vehicle battery to operate so if you don't have the charge setup attached to the battery it will eventually drain it. So it's going to work for a while but eventually it won't. The charge line is only as good as the charge line on the tow vehicle though so the reviews you read probably were from people who didn't have a very robust charge circuit on their 7-way or maybe the tow vehicle had a weaker battery.
