Is it Okay for Inner Race to Spin Inside Hub or Should it Remain Still
Updated 05/06/2024 | Published 05/04/2024 >
Question:
Is it a problem if the inner raceway spins in the hub? Is a new hub required if the race is not seating correctly? I have a camper with Lippert 3400 axles. Found this issue on one wheel while changing the brake assemblies and repacking the bearings.

Hey David, thanks for reaching out!
What you described is definitely no bueno. The race is supposed to fit really snug in the hub assembly and then that's what makes contact with the bearings. You can technically spin the race inside the hub but it would be difficult to do - it wouldn't/shouldn't be spinning freely.
If you let me know what numbers you find on your bearings and races I can let you know what part you need. Since your Lippert axles are rated for 3,400 lbs it's in the middle range of what parts could work.
