How to Place Blue Ox Patriot Brake System in Hybrid Mode for Flat Towing a 2023 Ford Escape

Question:

we tow a 2023 ford escape hybrid. we have the patriot blu37tr. Do we have to use FORCE on the brake controller to put it in H mode?

Hey Robert, thanks for reaching out about the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR!

Yes, you will need to use the FORCE button to set this system into Hybrid mode. Once the Patriot is in place and turned on you will use the remote to access to FORCE adjustment screen. Use the left button to lower that setting past 0 until you see the "H" for Hybrid mode, then press "OK" and you're all set!

I meant to ask should we be using H mode for this particular 2023 ford escape hybrid? If it is correct to use the H mode for this car do you have any suggestions for sensitivity setting? The car weights 3700 lbs. Thanks Robb

@Robb Yes, the Hybrid mode is for any Hybrid vehicle. When it comes to the braking sensitivity I recommend starting in the middle of the range and then increasing or decreasing the power until you get the desired result. Everybody likes different settings so it really just boils down to how you want it to perform.
