Question:
Is there an option to upgrade the hubs to a higher quality sealed or cartridge bearing on a Malone Ecolight? Ideally, I would replace the wheels to 12inch while Im doing the upgrades.

Hello Marcus. As far as the Malone EcoLight Trailer, there really is no way to upgrade the hubs beyond the standard grease hubs that it comes with.
It may be possible to use slightly larger tires and wheels, but that will completely depend on the amount of clearance between the tire and the fender. Ideally you want 3" between the tire and the fender, and at least 1" between the inside of the tire and the frame of the trailer.
The 4.80/4.00-8 tires that come with the EcoLight are 4.7" wide and 16" in diameter. A 12" wheel/ tire combo like a Loadstar 4.80-12 # AM30670 is 4.9" wide and 20.7" in diameter, so you would likely need to relocate the fenders in order to accommodate this size tire. If you are willing and able to do that, the # AM30670 tires will be a great choice for an upgrade.
