Are Ultra Fab Landing Gear Jacks a Solid Replacement for Jayco RLDS

Question:

im looking to replace my landing gear on a 2018 jayco rlds .it is slow an struggles an stops sometimes .gears are lubed an motor was replaced last year ,also new battery. i have read its a industry underrated problem. would you recommend the altra fab landing gears with seperate motors?

Hey William, yeah the Ultra Fab landing gear jacks part # UF17-943010 are a really nice landing gear option but the only thing is the mounting brackets are a little different than most so worst case scenario you might have to have them moved on your camper.

@William So most campers use a pretty standard distance between the mounting brackets that the UF landing gear just are spaced differently. So what will need to happen most likely is the brackets will need to be cut off and then rewelded in a different location.

@JamesonC Thankyou for your info.. bought the ultra fab landing gears an fit like a glove .No welding. not so pleased with the switches provided. they would stick out too far if installed in front of the rv where the other one is. had to build a switch box to mount inside a compartment door. Question.. looks like the motors are 30 amp each. what single switch could i get to add would handle both motors ? the original one i left on not in use looks like a 20 amp switch.

@William To be totally safe I would try and find a 60 amp switch since both motors are 30 amp. We don't carry any at this time though. Glad to hear the install went smooth!

Also would 2 of the altra fab uf17-841002 work?

@William Yeah, but you'd need a wiring harness solution but isn't available. I do see why you'd want to go that route though sine the price is so much better.
