Complete AC System With An Advent 13.5K BTU Low Profile AC Unit

Updated 04/17/2024 | Published 04/16/2024

Question:

I see this comes in a complete setup with the Advent 13500 Air-conditioner Unit includes air handler, start capacitor, and heat strip. Do you have the same package for the Advent low profile AC unit? If not, will this air handler work with the low profile unit?

Hello Tim. We can definitely set you up with a complete AC system with an Advent low profile unit. We actually offer that as a full kit, its just the heat strip that's sold separately. Here is what you will need:

- Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner System - Single Zone - 13,500 Btu - White - R32 # ADV65SR

- Electric Heat Strip for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners - 5,500 BTU - R32 # ADV34QR

Thanks for your reply, great information. I do have another question. I’m going to install the unit on an older 2008 Jayco Featherlight and the roof is only 2 inches thick. Is there an option to allow me to install this unit even though it’s for roofs 2 1/2-5 inches?

@TimD So, you can definitely still install the Advent unit with a 2" thick roof. You will need to build out the roof slightly to make it at least 2-1/2" thick. Basically build up a lip of sorts on the roof where you'll be installing this to make up for the difference. There isn't a specific kit that can be used for this type of installation, but you could use some wood blocks that are 1"- 2" thick or taller to help lift the unit off the roof and make the installation work. There are co AC systems designed to work with a 2" thick roof, so adding some material to the roof will be the only option.
