Question:

Will the 65” rhino rack vortex bar be wide enough for a retrax pro xr on an F150 5.5’ bed? The 71” will hang over about 4 inches on each side and I’m hoping the 65” work.

Hey Zach,

Rhino-Rack crossbars have an 11-3/4" mounting track on the both sides of the bottom of the crossbar. At 65" this would mean that the spacing of the t-slots in your cover would need to sit roughly 55" to 64" apart in order to fit. To mount the 65" crossbars # RRVA165B-2 in the track you'll need their quick-mount legs # RRRLT600.

Do the 11-3/4" mounting track on the both sides of the bottom of the crossbar start at the very end of the crossbar or is any of that space blocked by the plastic cap that inserts into the crossbar?

@ZachC The mounting tracks on the bottom of a Rhino-Rack crossbar start at the at end of the bar and the endcaps slip into the end, closing up the crossbar and preventing the feet or any accessories in the mounting track above from slipping out.
