Troubleshooting A Progressive Dynamics # PD4560LICSV That's Putting Out 13.66v For A Lithium Battery

Published 04/03/2024

Question:

I ordered this converter and installed it today PD4560LICSV. Its puting out 13.66v currently. I thought it would put out a constant 14.6v and the bms on the lifepo4 batteries would control the charge. Will it only put it the 14.6v when the batteries bms decides it needs a charge?

Hey Brandon,

The Progressive Dynamics # PD4560LICSV has a lithium jumper on the circuit board that is most likely in the 'WIZ' position instead of in the 'LI' position. In the WIZ position this converter section will utilize the charge wizard feature and send 13.2 - 14.4 volts to the battery bank. Take a look at yours and make sure it's in the Lithium (LI) position. If it is and you're still only getting 13.66 volts then let me know and we can see if it's the battery's BMS limiting the voltage.
