Is The Autowbrake Or Tekonsha Prodigy RF a Better Option For a 7K Horse Trailer?

Question:
wireless trailer brake controller for a 2013 M-B GL450, towing a 7k horse trailer. Autowbrake? or Prodigy RF? No experience with Autowbrake, but concerned that etrailer doesnt carry the Prodigy RF.

I can honestly say that both the Autowbrake Electric Brake Controller # 3430001 and the Tekonsha Prodigy RF are both great controllers. I think you will be happy with either of them on your 7K horse trailer. The only reason we currently do not have the Prodigy RF is ever since Tekonsha was bought out by First Brands they have been unable to get their manufacturing to a point to keep up with demand. I feel like it has been more than a year now since we have had the Tekonsha in stock.
I do think the Autobrake may be better over the Tekonsha in that it is a smaller unit and if you have limited space on your frame this would be a better option as I do see several horse trailers having the V-nose which does limit space on the tongue.

Great point - the tongue of the trailer is only about a foot deep from the jack to the V- nose. I’ll order the Autowbrake today.
