Can Trailer with Slipper Springs be Changed to Double Eye without Changing Hangers
Published 03/14/2024 >
Question:
I have a late 90’s ez-loader dual axle trailer with slipper leaf springs that need to be replaced I’m curious if I could swap it over to a conventional eye bolt leaf with a carrier and if I’d have to weld on the brackets or if I could get away with u-bolting it

You can swap to a double eye leaf spring setup on your trailer but you will need to basically remove and reinstall new hangers that were designed for this type of setup like with the # APT3HD. There MIGHT be a way to modify what you have but it's pretty hard to say what that would take and how well it would hold up.
