Question:
I have the # 1480DAT lock I cant even get the key to go in, never mind turn it. I have soaked it in PB Blaster for 24 hours, no joy. It has been on about a year. Seems unreasonable to have froze up in 12 months.

Hey Steven, I too would really hope that a lock like the # 1480DAT from the Master Lock brand would last longer than 12 months. My only suggestion would be to maybe try some WD-40 and a small wire brush to see if you can get any to penetrate the inside of the lock. If possible, rotate the lock so that gravity will also help the WD-40 get down into the core.
If all of that fails, this lock does come with a lifetime warranty. If you contact customer service they can help get a replacement out to you. You would have to cut the old lock off, or drill out the lock core, but if it is stuck there is really no other option.
