Should Curt Trailer Hitch Be Crooked on 2019 Ram 1500 Classic
Updated 07/22/2019 | Published 07/17/2019 >
Question:
Hey there. So I just finished installing this hitch SUPER easy!. It is just slightly crooked when looking down at it from above - not very much but just a hair. This is a new truck with no accidents. Is it normal for it to be a bit crooked at first? The way the bolts tighten it to the bumper frame doesnt appear to allow it much play if I loosened it up and tried to correct it. It seems like it would just pull it back out of alignment. Thanks!

The Curt Class IV Trailer Hitch # 14374 really shouldn't look crooked when mounted to your 2019 Ram 1500 Classic. The frame brackets on each side of the hitch are of an equal height so unless something was off on the frame rails of the truck the hitch should appear level.
You can certainly try loosening up a couple bolts and re-tightening them to make sure everything is secure. I know it sounds silly but also make sure the truck is parked on completely level ground when examining the hitch.
If the hitch still looks this way after tightening down the hardware please let me know. Please also feel free to email me a picture of the trailer hitch directly and I can take a look to see what might be causing it.
