Will Water Get Into LED Trailer Tail Light # STL8RB and Short Out the Light
Updated 04/17/2014 | Published 04/16/2014 >
Question:
I read one of the reviews for this product that indicated the tail light assembly collected water. If the STL8RB is encapsulated, why would it be collecting water? The review suggested drilling a drainage hole in the bottom of the assembly. Not sure I would be comfortable drilling a drainage hole in an encapsulated product. Are water problems common? Thanks.

Expert Reply:
The LED trailer light # STL8RB is submersible meaning that water can get in but the lights are sealed so the water will not short them out. If you were to seal up all the holes in the back of the light then no water could get in at all and it would not be an issue. Since the lights are sealed on the inside water would not be an issue either way.
