Question:

I see that there is a curve on the edges. Can you push cargo boxes all the way to the top edge bar? Trying to see what the real width is when storing cargo.

You would not be able to push a hard cargo box all the way to the top edge of the bar on the Yakima OffGrid Roof Cargo Basket # Y07138. The only exception would be a soft storage bag since it is flexible. As you said, the sides are rounded so you would hit the inside edge of the sides before anything else. However, the inside dimensions are going to be the usable dimensions so it takes that into account. The inside dimensions are 39" long x 38" wide x 5" tall.
