Question:

I bought one and it seems to work but my only concern is, is there a difference from right to left since the pad is thicker on one side over the other?

While the # RR25AB is a fit for 2500 Series Legs, like your roof rack system uses it's unfortunately not a fit for your vehicle. I spoke with Rhino-Rack to try to find the rest of the pads and was unfortunately told that the other pads aren't sold separately and that the only way to get replacements would be to order the entire DK Fit Kit # RR89QP. If you look at this kit you can see the pads are slightly different in shape and have different part numbers. I've attached a diagram below that shows where each pad needs to be installed to properly fit the contours of your CX-30's roof.
