Question:

I have an old 1 ton Dodge ram. It has an old 2002 Tekonsha brake controller in it. The old controller has 4 wires coming out the back. I want to upgrade to a self leveing controller. Would this be a good replacement for the current controller. I guess all I would need to add would be the harness that plugs into the new controller since the Tekonsha is a direct wire with no plug. Just cut the wires and wire the new ones to match. The old one seems to be fading out when applied. Thanks

Yes, the Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller # C24VV can be used to replace the Tekonsha controller in your 2002 Dodge Ram 1 ton pickup. I do recommend wiring in the Pigtail # C51515 so you will be able to easily disconnect the controller in the future. This will help in the event you have a wiring issue down the road or wish to move the controller to a new truck.
