Hello. Is any drilling required in order to install the Blue Ox base plate on a 2024 GMC 1500? Trying to determine if I want to do this myself or take to a shop. Thank you

Yes, some drilling will be required in order to install the Blue Ox Base Plate # BLU35XR on a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. The drilling itself is fairly minor. Removing the bumper and windshield washer fluid reservoir is going to be the more difficult part. You will need to drill two holes with a 1/2" drill bit using the base plate itself as a template. So it will be easy to know exactly where to drill.

Not to underestimate your installation skills, but we generally do recommend having base plates installed professionally. I have linked the manufacturer installation instructions below if you want to take a look.
