Best Parts to Flat Tow 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited

I have a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited Duramax 4wd crew cab short box. We want to flat tow it behind our Class A motorhome. I want the best towing system for this. I have looked at all of them and am more confused now. What in your opinion and experience is the best set up for this. Ive looked at what others use and that only makes this more difficult for me. Thank you!

Hey Jeff, lets first start with a base plate kit that fits your 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited. For that you'd want the Blue Ox part # BLU35XR as I personally think the Blue Ox components are the best made and also the easiest to use.
The Blue Ox Avail part # BX7420 tow bar that you referenced is the way to go as well as it has more than enough weight capacity and also is well made and easy to use.
Then for a braking system the Demco Stay in Play part # SM99251 is the best performing and easiest to install.
For lighting then you'd want the Roadmaster Diode kit part # RM-15267 with the battery disconnect part # RM-766 and you'd be set.

After looking at the recommended parts I notice the battery disconnect kit is for gas only. My truck is a Duramax Diesel. I didn't see a kit on your site for a diesel. Do I really need to disconnect the battery?
