Question:
I am looking for wiring harness for trailer lights for Mazda CX-90 2024. On etrailer.com I found part # C59236. However on Curt manufacturing website the compatible wire harness has a different part number: #56494 How do these products differ?

The Curt # C59236 wiring you've found for your 2024 Mazda CX-90 is a universal wiring kit that essentially fits any vehicle on the market since it requires splicing into the OEM wiring of the vehicle for the installation.
The Curt 56494, which is on our site listed as part # C24ZV, is one of their T-Connector wiring kits which tees into a pre-existing connector on your vehicle and then the only wiring you'll have to do is run a hot wire lead to your battery so that the trailer lights will be pulling power from your battery instead of the OEM wiring. This just means your vehicle wiring can't be overdrawn.
I highly recommend the T-Connector # C24ZV because the installation is a lot more simple and less messy. Since you won't be cutting into your factory wiring the odds of that wiring getting messed up is dropped to zero as well.

Is there a kit that allows for the wiring to be installed 'outside' the vehicle? I want to use the wiring harness permanently for plugging into a step light in the hitch, and don't want wires hanging out of my hitch 24-7. I know I could use the C24ZV and drill through the bottom of the back of the vehicle and tie it off to the hitch permanently, but I don't want to drill through the vehicle if I don't have to. Thanks.
