Why Do The Trailer Hitch Receivers Say They Will Not Fit a 2011 Toyota Tacoma w/ Factory Receiver?

Question:

I need to replace the factory hitch on my 2011 Toyota Tacoma. Toyota recently replaced the frame All of your hitches say will not fit truck with an OEM hitch. Is this true even if I remove the factory hitch?

Based on the information I could find online the bumper brackets are integrated into the factory receiver. I have also read some of the factory receivers may have been welded to either the frame or bumper components. You will need to check your assembly and possibly order the different bumper brackets for your 2011 Toyota Tacoma. Then you should be able to install our etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98850. I have linked an installation video we have for this in our shop which you can use to determine what may all be different with your Tacoma.
