It actually turns out that the center to center dimension of the legs of the U-Bolt are 4.5 inches.

@JamesonC Wow! Thanks for the quick reply and update. It may help someone down the road. I was looking for a bracket that I could use with my Yakima RocketBox as a replacement for a missing one. The holes in my RocketBox are 4 inches apart - so I thought I had hit the jackpot with this bracket. It still looks great - but I may need to drill some additional holes in the box to make it work with this slightly wider bracket. Thanks again. Mark
